“Self-censorship is the norm, not the exception,” a student at one of the country's top law schools wrote. “I self-censor even when talking to some of my best friends for fear of word getting around.” Thanks to @DeseretNews for the invitation:https://www.deseret.com/indepth/2021/3/2/22309605/the-silenced-majority-bari-weiss-new-york-times-cancel-culture-free-speech-democrat-republican …

Yes. "I didn't say something others might see as offensive so as not to be seen as an ass." Either get stop worrying about what others think or stop complaining.

Thanks Bari for speaking out on this. I try hard to speak my mind. It's a lot easier at home and with friends than at work, but it's hard everywhere. Not just because of cancel fear - but also b/c I like to feel confident in what I'm saying and the media has lost its credibility

Yet the irony is that the people who talk the loudest about the media losing its credibility are typically those who care the least about credibility to begin with.

As a people we are bright enough to complete various levels of education & read work manuals but if we become aware that something might be offensive to someone some still have a desire to say that thing. Of course you CAN 1st Amendment but why do some want to say that thing?
