    Got a call from longtime military vet buddy who has seen an awful lot out in the world in recent years. He wanted to say to all journalists out on the streets of DC to be careful today. And for that, we all say thank you. We are hopeful for peaceful day

    Congresswoman Liz Cheney starts off the Congressional day with the Constitution

    We have sworn an oath under God to defend the Constitution. We uphold that oath at all times, not only when it is politically convenient. Congress has no authority to overturn elections by objecting to electors. Doing so steals power from the states & violates the Constitution.

    I would only add the humble observation that hubris has infused many reporting beats. But it’s really their problem because we are not leaving ever or going away ever. Have I mentioned? We are right here.

    There were times in combat I was asked questions by reporters. I didn’t always like answering them. But the hubris exhibited by some politicians in dealing with journalists is simply disgusting. And as a resident of Florida, it’s shameful that is one of the worst.

    Unarmed deployment will include: *180 guardsmen @ 30 traffic control points in 2 12-hour shifts. * 48 guardsmen assigned to Metro stations, also in shifts. * 40 personnel standby if civilian law enforcement be pulled away they will fill in.
