Great reporting Barbara, however in these times it would be helpful to know which administration officials were making these statements. It's unfortunate that we have to be so skeptical of any information coming from this white house but here we are.
As Iran is also at loggerheads with the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Egypt hegemony (targeting the sympathetic Qatar regime directly), I suggest the action is in or around Kish/Qeshm Island in the straits of Hormuz. I say this based on no direct knowledge of the recent moves.
