When Trump was saying young people couldn’t get coronavirus, he knew they could. When Trump was saying it was the same as the flu, he knew it was deadlier. When Trump was purposely downplaying the severity, he knew it passed through the air. He knew.
And he said on April 1 that he was downplaying it purposefully to prevent panic, because he is a cheerleader for the nation, but he is also taking it very seriously as evidenced by shutting down travel from China and Europe expeditiously. What part of that is news to you?

Now we know he knew all of that two months prior. Honestly it seemed like he was full of it in late March, like he got caught unprepared & was making that part about not causing a panic up. Now we know, yup, he knew how deadly it was, and lied anyway.

Trump has been consistent in trying to avoid panic over coronavirus. Never veered from that attitude publicly. It takes a blind animus toward him to doubt his remarks on that count. Consistently optimistic publicly, while resolute and quick in making tough decisions he had to.
