    1. People shouldn't be asked to "refrain" from garbage burning but should be told it's illegal, because it is! 2. We don't know of a "safe" level of PM2.5 & the Thai standard of 50mgm/m3 is far higher than WHO's guideline of 15mgm 3. Weather doesn't cause pollution. Humans do

This coming weekend at BACC, join a series of workshops, talks and exhibition on possibilities for clean air for Thailand. Don't let air pollution drop off the government agenda!

Clarification from the source (pm2.5 AQI Thailand Facebook page) that this chart is derived from the Dindaeng NHA flats sensor, owned by PCD.

Looks like this year was one of the cleanest air years Bangkok has had in a while! Lots of green days (surprisingly so!) and less orange/red than previous years.

Most people are surprised that N95/KN95/KF94 can be used more than 8 hrs. Actually the N95 spec requires that these masks maintain >95% after 200mg of loading. How much is 200mg, same as wearing the mask 24/7 in Shanghai for about 200 DAYS! Straps will be the first thing to fail

The weather gods decided Bangkokians had endured enough and gave us the most precious Christmas gift of all, breathable air. Happy Christmas!

The only place they should be dropping water is on actual fires. That's where it'll be useful.

today. Get your dose of PM2.5 particulates, just in time for the holidays. When is going to do something substantive to deal with this problem?

The message is clear, clean air is good for business. With dirty air people stay in (bad for retail & hospitality) or stay away (bad for tourism). Dirty air also means lost working days for sick staff and for caregivers. Economic growth doesn't have to = bad air.

I wonder what a similar study on Thailand would find? "if India had safe air in 2019, its GDP would have increased by $95bn (3%) as businesses face lower costs & higher revenues, & gained 1.4bn working days by decreasing sick leaves = $6 billion higher revenues for businesses"

A reminder that in September this year, the WHO tightened its guideline "safe" level of 24 hour PM2.5 exposure to 15mgm/m3. We're at 85 and climbing!
