  1. A new state legislative special election has been added to our list. The special election is for the 4th Essex District seat in the Massachusetts House of Representatives on Nov. 30, 2021. The primary is on Nov. 2, and the filing deadline is on Sept. 21.

  2. A special election is being held on 9/7 for Dist 78 of the Alabama House of Representatives. The special election was called after Kirk Hatcher (D) was elected to the Alabama State Senate in March. Kenyatté Hassell (D) and Loretta Grant (R) are running in the general election.

    Kristi Schmeck, who suspended her campaign for a seat on the five-member Sequim School District Board of Directors, rejoined the race after receiving the most votes in the August 2 primary. Schmeck received 28.85% of the vote for the Director at Large, Position No. 4 seat.
