A common trend I see nowadays is companies stating being user/customer first increasingly making (platform/tech) decisions based on “what’s the easiest/quickest for our engieers” vs “what’s the best experience for the user”

I’m not saying that any of this is wrong - in fact, from a business perspective it’s very logical - at the same optimizing for what works for the org, doesn’t equal optimizing to what’s best for the customer - even when it’s compelling to believe those are fully aligned.
