This video shows that Bitcoin has birthed a devout multiethnic movement with its own code of ethics. It has both populist & elite appeal, domestic & global support. That’s why the long term contest within the US isn’t red-vs-blue. It’s orange-vs-green.

Just like Woke Capital, Bitcoin Maximalism is a fusion of left-libertarian human rights & right-libertarian property rights. Both movements are radically democratic *and* capitalistic. Both have a claim on deep-rooted parts of the American psyche. The stage is set for conflict.

Counterargument: maybe all that matters are the believers. Wokeness was a joke for years. But it built up strength in faculty lounges. From there it became the moral code of generations of college grads. Then it went vertical, culminating in summer 2020 & institutional capture.

To calibrate, watch this video of Nasser on the tarha in 1958. Watch the Egyptians of the time laugh at how ridiculous it would be to mandate it. Then look at the culture today. Zealous belief among the faithful is often underrated as a driver of change.

The 2000s events that increased the tensions between Arab world and the West (9/11, 2nd intifada Israel/Palestine, US wars in the middle-east) were a bigger factor in nourishing that fundamentalist fervor. Tarha's spread like wildfires during those times.

Worth noting in previous era, other countries,eg Tunisia/Turkey, banned hijab;the state w'd send people to streets forcing women to take it off.Only Iran force it now.Region currently is rebundling (to quote balaji); leaving ideology,&rising similar to other Asia(contrast to West)

Yh, but for it to be a driver of change you need for the masses to subscribe to the same sacred values, and for the zealous minority to be intolerant without the masses punishing them for their intolerance.
