Bitcoin has been pushed by the US establishment, put out as anti-establishment to get folks to adopt it. Best way you can get the grass roots to ape in is to act like it's anti-establishment. Classic CIA/NSA tactics!

And it's always conflict. As with most things US culture these days, despite agreeing on 90+% of issues, the entire focus must be on the disagreements. It's almost as if they purposefully generate conflict to artificially signal control.
