YouTube should not be censoring videos that dispute WHO. They claimed no evidence for human-to-human transmission, airborne transmission, travel bans, masks. WHO isn’t always wrong. But they are humans, not oracles, and we must be allowed to rebut. @SusanWojcicki, please fix!https://twitter.com/tariqnasheed/status/1252665361532456960 …

#YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki says anything that goes against the W.H.O. is a violation of YouTube policies. All content that isn't "medically substantiated," such as advising people take Vitamin C, will be removed by the platform. This is called CENSORSHIP folks. #smh pic.twitter.com/9cnB2dnS7O

Below are just a few of the most egregious cases where WHO got it wrong. These aren’t infallible authorities. They get some things right but have made many mistakes. For YouTube to censor rebuttals of WHO is a global public health hazard. https://mobile.twitter.com/austen/status/1245689629178650624 … https://twitter.com/Austen/status/1245689629178650624 …

I think the greater danger they might see is the rampant and vile conspiracy cesspool they know exists and they don’t want to fuel that right now on this topic

If all we had to rely on for our information were large institutions, we would all be way more screwed than we currently are.

SMH at people not familiar with medical jargon who think "there is no evidence of x" is equivalent to "there is evidence against x". Yes, the linguistic similarity is annoying. No, a medical professional saying this is not estimating "not x". They are avoiding giving an estimate.

While I tend to agree with your quoted tweet, shouldn't the WHO calibrate its comms on Twitter, where the average reader clearly won't be aware of scientific communication minutiae?

The second one is my favorite. "Masks don't help healthy ppl whatsoever, also our healthy HCWs desperately need masks to keep them from getting sick." It reads like the @TheOnion

The kind of masks ordinary people wear do not help, and the PPE masks are rightfully going to health care workers who do need them desperately. It doesn't 'read like the Onion but your tweet reads like you haven't a clue.

This policy is self-contradictory. WHO is themselves saying things that are not medically correct.

They weren't just wrong. They were HORRIFICALLY wrong in a way that benefits nobody. The ceiling for overreaction in this situation is VERY HIGH and the bar for underreaction incredibly low, but they are hell bent on playing limbo
