The idea that one can produce genuine step changes any other way is delusion. The scientific method doesn’t produce new hypotheses. You can’t iterate and customer interview your way to new ideas.

Travis started Uber with calls to ten drivers to ask them if they’d drive for the service. Several said yes. That gave him the evidence to do it. So it’s complex. I’d call the Galapagos strategy an advanced move. Beginners often default to it, intermediates know how hard it is.
