This is a hard problem because it seems to subsume everything from job boards to MTurk to consulting gigs to Uber and Lyft. But I can think of a few z-axis approaches.

I think about the Japanese concept of Ikigai a lot. The ideal engine would find something you love, that you're good at, that the world needs, and that can make you money. 1) What you love: your demonstrated interests on Twitter, Kindle, etc 2) What you're good at: your demonstrated skills from Coursera, Udacity, college 3) What the world needs: macro trends, other people's interests, big problems 4) What can make you money: posted jobs and tasks

Slightly different perspective. Make job hunting less painful and no one will take a job or stick with it very long! Part of the reason folks accept a job is because of the pain involved in finding one and get hired. I'm only half kidding.

A rough analogy is the difference between watching a video all the way through that you rented from Blockbuster vs randomly clicking through things on Netflix. I think high context jobs with end-loaded compensation will continue to exist, but interesting to see what else arises.

I think humans can only stand so much churn in their work/jobs, before the satisfaction from job alignment would break down. Think how dating apps are skewing dating behaviour and satisfaction.

Dunno. The 20th century was structured around day people, who prized routine and order. This century may be structured around night people, who prize novelty and innovation.
