"One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws." -- MLK MLK may have been facing down much more serious issues than we're dealing with today, but the advice applies across the board.

I'm a copyright lawyer and this is my view: We as a society as a whole would be better off with no copyright at all than the copyright laws we have now. And before you start spouting about livelihoods, consider this - who'd hire a copyright lawyer if there's no copyright law?

Here's a sneak preview of the experience. You can rifle through a boxes of 75rpm records, 8mm films, or hiphop mix tapes, pick the one you want, and play it - all in the Great Room of the church

If you're interested in game development, buy this book! I learned using second edition which is a bit dated now, but it's absolutely PACKED with information and references that'll teach you how game engines work, and how to squeeze every bit of performance out of your games

It's 2018. Do you know where your 3rd-party JS is coming from? Any JavaScript that runs on a web page where users' personal data is entered or displayed has full access to that data. And the site owner has full responsibility for keeping it private.

People weren't kidding when they said my life would never be the same now that I've had a kid. For the first time in 3 weeks I spent an hour at home alone with no distractions, no one else around, and it feels AMAZING!

My last employer was bought by Facebook, who made us sign contracts saying we wouldn't talk about what a horrible company they were before firing most of us, but this thread really hits a lot of the high points. Troubling stuff.

Dear indie game devs: here are 3 different actively-growing PBR public domain texture sites. (There may be more, but these are the three I currently support on Patreon because they're CC0.) •

Good evening. A few generous donors have offered to fly me to large collections of Apple II software to image them on site. Now we just need to find those collections. If you're a private collector or a school or used to have a store, hit me up. Let's do this.

Never underestimate the value of games to trick kids into learning valuable life skills! I grew up playing games like Sim ciry, Transport Tycoon, Air Bucks...by the time I was 14 I was doing my parents' finances in Quicken.
