Yup, he was actually the person that explained blockchain to me for the first time. My first question was why can't the nonsense problem solving part of the validating, validate something useful. I still don't really understand why it can't, but maybe one day.
Seems like a good question to me! I'd guess that it's just difficult (but not impossible) to find useful problems to solve where each answer builds on previous answers, and is hard to solve but easy for everyone to objectively agree on what the solution is.
Ya true. But what about something like that validation thing that asks you to validate 2 numbers. One is known and one is not known, but after enough consensus it then becomes a known number too. I don't think I am explaining this well, if you don't know what I mean.
