Never sure how to feel about those first few chapters of a biography that dive into the subject's genealogy. Almost always boring, but usually important context

Yeah I fizzled out on some Theodore Roosevelt biography when, chapters in, it was still on his insect interests when he was nine. Maybe this is a big test for biography writers though. Somehow I still felt captivated learning about Texas rainfall patterns when Caro described it.
