The Ethereum Scam Database (http://etherscamdb.info ) is a great resource. Maintained by @myetherwallet and enforced by @metamask_io. We've had hundreds of scammers trying to impersonate @BloomToken and I always report addresses and phishing URLs.pic.twitter.com/9fSSJvz84i

I also report ETH addresses associated with scams to @etherscan. They have a google form for reporting addresses: https://goo.gl/ryqeLd  Reports add a disclaimer and mark the address as a phishing address in each TX. Hope they use http://etherscamdb.info  eventually though.pic.twitter.com/IVJhDaufvC

If you do a token sale, people are going to creating lookalike phishing websites. On top of what I already mentioned above, you can also report to google's anti-phishing team: https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en …

If you catch a phishing site early, you can lookup the host and domain providers and contact their abuse report teams. I reported a dozen or so websites imitating @BloomToken. Most were taken down in 12 hours. All but one were down in 48 hours. Screenshots and links go a long way

If you have a community chat then record IP addresses on sign up. Screen them against services like Abuse IP DB (http://abuseipdb.com ) and report them if they spam or scam users.pic.twitter.com/ZHIpTYV0Rg

If nothing else, it is satisfying to report the hell out of someone that just tried to spam / scam your users. Reporting to services like Abuse IP DB makes their jobs harder too though! Now your report will show up when they do other unrelated spam.

It can get demotivating reporting spammers and scammers, but keep this in mind: reporting quickly after the fact raises the cost of attacking your community.

Having a team member monitor chat signups goes a long way too. Monitoring signup emails, country, IP, usernames, and profile changes goes a long way. It helped us understand the characteristics of 5-6 persistent scammer groups and preemptively ban them before they could do damage

User education goes a long way too of course. We warn community members multiple times before they join our chat.pic.twitter.com/9CluG567ij

Build up a list of disposable email domains and screen users on signup. If a disposable email signs up from a suspicious location, maybe don't send the invite 😉

Track what emails have tried to signup from a given IP address. What do you think it means if someone just signed up with a valid email after trying multiple throwaway emails? This is what team members see when someone is about to join the @BloomToken chat.pic.twitter.com/5lbMNQWGpT

Making it harder to impersonate the team helps too. We have multiple signals in our team names that will get you auto banned if you try to set for your own account. Being within a certain edit distance of our display names also gets you banned.pic.twitter.com/wdxIOcP4Ke
