predictive text/autocorrect is a version of this, I think a more readily, er, exploitable/legible one

I’d love to see a solid forensics paper about what you can extract from a predictive text model stored on someone’s phone

isn’t it marvellous how thoughts become words which become sounds coming of our mouthes? even if two people think the same thought, the language and tone will be completely personal to that individual

I'd like to see the frequency of use for the word 'unprescedented' before and after Obama. I feel like it's like a subliminal thhat says "I'm a Liberal and smart enugh to be an authority to you." I don't know if I'm just imagining this but I hear it everywhere now.

I've often noticed the phenomenon myself. A fairly obscure word or term is used somewhere prominent, and all of a sudden, everyone starts saying it all of the time. Or am I just noticing that people are saying it more as a result of being triggered myself?

-
It could be both. Humans are known to notice things that they themselves are interested in. It's a form of selection bias.
