Whenever I write something new I just obsess over the topic, talk all of my friends' ears out about it, and tweet every interesting fact in the process while writing. Post basically feels useless once its done.

Tweeting about it is a great collaborative process of getting feedback and refining your thinking. The post, while pointless to you (which is reasonable), is very helpful to point at in the long run.
