Im not really following you. The victorians didnt prematurely optimise sewage systems which resulted in gas leak explosions in the home. Decentralisation is the ‘means to the end’ in a blockchain, it shouldn’t come at the cost of centralisation.

CTs, in the form of bulletproofs have just been implemented in Monero knocking 97% off the tx fee rate and more importantly making the chain more scalable and decentralised. This is a significant optimisation which we needed during the premature hype in 2017.
