I didn’t expect Apple to take a strong pro-privacy stance. I’m also pleasantly surprised by their new features for addressing smartphone addiction.
Both seem early enough and high quality enough to not just be strategic self-regulation.

It’s basically only possible because it aligns to their business model. Sell premium hardware with integrated software and services for an extreme profit. No need to gather a bunch of info on you and sell that as a product to advertisers.

True, but in a way every massive tech company is expected to capitalize on every computing trend. Taking a pro-privacy stance limits what trends Apple can easily execute on. Still a big sacrifice I think, although I agree that it is easier for them than many others
