much more nrx-y, but I suppose there may be more of an overlap these days

They're basically just weird-adjacent and seem to hoover up a bunch of different groups that specifically attract people willing to embrace weird and out there ideas. Seems to generally happen in a lot of the crypto space too.

my problem with urbit is that it's deliberately, performatively obscure - this may have changed recently but last I looked there were core decisions (like flipping the True/False mapping of 1/0) that seemed to just exist to provide a sort of moat around the tech
-
I'm eternally still figuring out what is up with their tech (although I'm going to their summit soon so maybe I'll figure it out), so half-joke answer instead: Urbit being "deliberately, performatively obscure" is +10 evidence that they're a postrat company lol
-
OMFG cmooooon. Postrat is not obscure. Meaningness is written clearly so that idiots can understand it. It's religion for children. That's a good thing. Urbit is babble.
-
lmao I mean maybe I'm biased by getting introduced through @ctbeiser. I'd unpack my reason behind the joke but I think Twitter has had enough rationalist vs postrationalist threads
-
No you're totally right. Let's draw a line under this one.
