I can’t recite the few passwords I have memorized, it’s only muscle memory. For the Rubik’s cube, I have to relearn algorithms that are already in two-handed muscle memory for one-handed solves. Reminds me of those split brain experiments. My hands know stuff I don’t!

my hands know so many songs and riffs on the guitar that my conscious doesn't. and sometimes my hands write phrases before I think them – these are some of my favorite phrases to read on hindsight, and part of what I love about writing

When speedwriting a while back using this time pressure app (see quoted tweet) I hit a point where I wasn’t sure if I had more ideas or if I should move on. Out of panic, I let my hands just write and a solid idea came out lol. Super weird feeling!https://twitter.com/backus/status/1007126280892907520?s=21 …

Writing with http://themostdangerouswritingapp.com forces you to write for 5 minutes straight. If you stop typing, it deletes everything.
Great cure for writers block. I also use it to just dump my thoughts on a topic. Every time I'm surprised how clarifying it is. pic.twitter.com/QJbF1cai0E
