I've been nibbling on a thought for a while – families are the hardest thing to talk about openly/publicly, and so they're the most powerful thing to talk about via storytelling. stories about cars (Fast8), drugs (Breaking Bad), anything – all end up really being about family
I don’t necessarily disagree, but I never previously thought Breaking Bad was about family.

That conflict is part of what I’m talking about, yeah. BB would be far less interesting if WW *didn’t” have a family. He starts out using his family as a crutch/excuse for his lack of self-actualization, and eventually admits that it’s not about them. Lots of families face this
