“Invisibility” of decentralization/tokenization is going to be the key feature for mainstreaming.https://twitter.com/sarthakgh/status/1024099255248596992 …

Couldn’t agree more. I’m really interested in ecosystems where there can be some automated value exchange (think an app using and simultaneously contributing updated data or processing power or whatever) that’s automated, tokenized, and just runs in the background. BT = great ex.
-
Yes! I wrote “What if BitTorrent had a token?” because: • People already USE BitTorrent. Not theoretical • BitTorrent barters between many unalike resources (bandwidth, storage, content) • Token can be behind the scenes • Researches and builders wanted this in the 2000s!
-
It's a really good model of basically opting in a single time to participating in a give-and-take mechanism. Tokenization allows for increased parameters for background activity while leaving it in the background.

What are your opinions of Tron's purchase?
-
A lot of people ask me this because of that post. Honestly I haven’t paid attention to Tron and the main thing I know is that whole IPFS plagiarism thing. Was that resolved/addressed?
-
Resolved not really. "Addressed" by taking the whitepapers of the site but the "similarities" between IPFS and or Filecoin were striking if not outright plagiarism. Still interested to see what the addition of BitTorrent will bring.

Reading material.
@CremeDeLaCrypto flagged this sort of acquisition as "Cash Flush Business Light" companies leveraging massive ICO war chests to try to get real tech, teams, and growth. CFBL is a concept I expect we'll hear a lot more of.https://medium.com/blockchain-capital/a-crypto-acquisition-spree-the-rise-of-cfbls-ab3535792c8f … -
About to dive in but initially, agree. That was my thought as well, thinking they can pass off BitTorrent's network effects as their own through acquisition instead of real development. Thanks for sharing.
