After many years, I’ve stumbled into my first prolonged period of “Podcast Fatigue,” where I don’t have the mental energy to even listen to episodes w/ guests I like.

I've been there or at least felt something similar. Try a long audiobook or two and then you'll feel refreshed when you return to it. Podcasts also make it easy to jam pack all idle time to the point where your brain never really rests.

Heh not sure I'm a good person to answer this. I've filled up every idle moment w/ audio/internet since I was 14 & didn't know it was weird til I was 18 Being w/o phone/laptop/book for 30min on train one day felt therapeutic. Now I recognize feeling frazzled and go for a walk

FWIW, I view this as anti-insight. Something that seems obvious to everyone else but for some reason I didn't get it. Reading
@vgr's post "How to Take a Walk" made me feel a bit less guilty, but stillhttps://www.ribbonfarm.com/2010/08/09/how-to-take-a-walk/ …1 reply 0 retweets 3 likes

Also, the formula for a lot of podcasts can become so predictable that I have to give them a rest for a while (see quoted tweet). Not that they shouldn't be, it just makes it hard to focus on the information. Taking a break fixes thathttps://twitter.com/_cingraham/status/1013553930171662336 …
