Defending porn/prostitution, why? Sexual liberation doesn't mean continuing sexual objectification, it means smashing it. There is nothing liberatory about an industry rife with sexual abuse, rape, violence, slavery, and murder. Porn and prostitution are, generally, sex negative.

porn and sex work can still be empowering and a form of autonomy for people though

How can porn and sex work be empowering and a form of autonomy for people living under a capitalist patriarchy which is both inherently alienating and objectifying? I would argue that post-capitalist erotica could be sexually empowering if patriarchal values were also abolished.

But that's not how things are now and simply because there are those who thrive in the industry as workers (as much as one can under capitist patriarchy), does not mean that the majority do and does not erase the extreme issues related to sex work.
