A lesson from actual historians: The Nazis were *not* socialists.

I can— I can see the future. Yes. It’s coming to me now: “BUT ‘SOCIALIST’ IS A PART OF THEIR NAME!” “So you also think North Korea’s a democracy?” “THAT’S DIFFERENT. COMMUNISTS LIE ALL THE TIME.”

The DPRK is a democracy. They regularly hold elections. This information is easy to find and corroborate. There's no excuse for repeating nonsensical imperialist propaganda.

The DPRK has county, city, and provincial elections to the local people’s assemblies, as well as national elections to the Supreme People’s Assembly, their legislature. These are carried out every five years. How is that not a democracy?

          1) they are not competitive in any sense 2) to vote “against” the party they have to cross out the name of the candidate with a red pen in front of an election official 3) at some stations there are separate boxes for no votes They are just show elections, a political census.

Listen, I know you are desperate to argue and defend the DPRK, but I try not to argue with bad faith actors online. You either believe NK citizens saying this or you don’t, and if you don’t you’re either acting in bad faith or a fool, and I try not to argue with either.
