It doesn’t matter? Saying veganism is an eating disorder is inaccurate and disrespectful on so many levels

And it’s exacerbated by the fact that if anything, veganism is the opposite of an eating disorder.

Veganism as an ethical choice isn’t an ED and the op knows that. She’s referring to people who choose it as a diet - correctly “plant based”

And actually, saying veganism is the opposite of an ed is EXTREMELY invalidating to those in the community with ed’s so *please* dont say that

The point is it has helped lots of ed sufferers overcome their disorders so saying it’s a disorder in itself invalidates the people it has helped...

that's not what i said and you'll note that i had "veganism" in quotes because i wasn't referring to people who are vegan for ethical reasons, but please continue to miss the point elsewhere, my mentions are not the place.

How do you know who is vegan for which reasons? You don’t get to have an opinion on why another person eats the way they do. And when did it become okay to point out another person’s eating disorder...?

Veganism isn’t “ethical” anyway. Prioritising animals over the human labourers who work to provide all those extra plant-based foods is absolutely not ethical.

There's nothing particularly funny about the brutal conditions in which agricultural workers must labor. The industry is rife with exploitation. Pretending otherwise is unethical & permits it to continue. It's also deeply racist and classist. Laughing at it is repugnant.

What about animal agriculture? That must just be flowers and rainbows and puppies and kittens, right?
