Wow, thanks, Twitter. This sort of neurotypical bullshit is exactly what I wanted to see promoted onto my feed.pic.twitter.com/WrY30eSxOe

It's not bullshit. As a lifetime sufferer of anxiety, depression, PTSD, dissociation, paranoid delusions, transient psychotic episodes, blah, I find your dismissal of actually helpful pieces of advice to be very offensive. These things have helped me and continue to.
And it's fine that it helps you, but what's bullshit and irresponsible is generalizing this to "If you have anxiety, do this to get better" when there are many people where it won't help or it will actively hurt.
Taking deep breaths, having a glass of water, listening to music, writing, or meditating, etc. to help reduce stress or calm an anxiety attack isn't going to hurt anyone. Seeking help from and talking to people you trust probably won't hurt either.
All of those can very much hurt depending on the person. You really, really shouldn't project your own experiences onto everyone else.
If breathing hurts, go to the hospital immediately.
Breathing exercises aren't necessarily a problem because of them actually, physically hurting, but because those sorts of things can make your anxiety worse instead of better.
