Idiot Sloth: "China hired Blackwater to ethnic cleansing." Someone who's not a complete idiot: "Uh… no they didn't. Erik Prince was hired to train their special ops." Idiot Sloth: "Oh… well… ETHNIC CLEANSING!!!" Non-Idiot: "You sure about that?" Idiot Sloth: "FASCIST!"

Sorry, forgot questioning literal anti-communist propaganda is extremely bad.

I’m torn here because I agree with you about Sl*th but disagree with you about China

And while I agree with your critique of recapitulating imperial propaganda, there’s very little evidence that the substance of the critiques about Uighur policy is wrong, I’m afraid.

So, can I see actual evidence of ethnic cleansing? Is it wrong to doubt what could easily be substanceless propaganda?

I wouldn’t use the term ethnic cleansing if that means anything to you in this discourse.

I would say ethno-religious repression, which all states do, but that doesn’t make it okay.

Do I think China is a particularly abhorrent case? I mean relative to most states, yeah, but relative to the big power politics players like US, UK, France, Russia etc, no.

Well, then, as a rhetorical policy, when engaging with people like Sl*th it’s better to qualify that you acknowledge the existence of the ethnic religious repression, because otherwise dogpiles like this happen, and the meme about ethnic cleansing was in poor taste.
