Kinda honest, but yes, I agree. The real analysis here is that he wants to call Black people the n-word.

Basically when you see his utterance above you can think to yourself like a philosopher under what universe does his analysis obtain? Only 2, I think, both of which are more white supremacist than we have now, which is saying something.

He either wants white people never to be called "white", totally destroying any useful/healthy discussion around whiteness & colonialism. Or (mutually inclusively if he's irrational, which he is) he wants to just call everybody slurs, esp. Black people. Both are palingenetic.

For "obtains" used this way, see:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_affairs_(philosophy) …

Oh yeh, forgot the discussion was about Steve Salerno. Ended-up focusing on Brads story. Yeh, Steve Salerno had a platform so his rhetoric is pretty destructive. Going to read the wiki you sent me, haven't heard of 'state of affairs' before.

It's not about anything. Just philosophy. Only read if you're bothered.

Okay, so the state of affair is a like a the way the 'actual world' must be in order for a proposition to be true?

Absolutely.

It's like if I say: All trees are mammals. An oak is a tree. Therefore, an oak is a mammal. It's not a logical fallacy, it's just it doesn't obtain in this universe.

Yeh, so in this case the Prof is making a statement that isn't a logical fallacy but essentially is not true in this universe.

So is it here that he invokes "palingenetic ultranationalism"? Essentially, making statements that attempt to rebirth a new reality? - A core myth at the heart of facist ideology?

He lives in an alternative reality to you and I where "it makes sense" to call Black people the n-word, yes.

Makes sense. Generally, 'white' isn't a noun and thus isn't use as an ethnic slur. Generally the concept of whiteness is recently only a ~400 years old.
