I can't imagine what it must be like to have to handle all this as a parent. I'm so sorry you and others have to deal with it.
I guess it's another parent-to-child conversation to be added to the list.. together with "careful smoking weed at uni with your white friends, cos only you will get arrested/expelled"
When the citizenship story of Shamima Begum first broke in 2019, it hit us that even though were british born, the fact I can’t show English ancestry means I can always be deported to Pakistan — a country I don’t have ties with and haven’t visited.

I feel this. It adds to our existential angst doesn't it. I'm a naturalised citizen, and often get airport nerves... always having the thought at the back of my mind when returning from a trip that I might not be let back in due to some new policy or another...

That’s probably more a fear my dad/grandparents might have. I have a bit of a weird relationship with police. I get really really nervous and have to put on a confident attitude. I’m always afraid.
