I know this is scary, but doing a PhD while on a FB salary = the dream. It’s only a few PhDs. The U.K. has a rather weird relationship with it’s students — I’m generally not a fan of it. Do you know if the Facebook PhD pays market rates? (If anything I think that could be a win).
Current stipend for many PhD students is £16,000. Facebook entering the market could likely force that to increase and provide students with stronger industries skills.
