It's very weird that in my UK academic circles I have ~1 degree of separation to academics who are being transphobic. So so so wierd.

It is not erasure of women's identity to ask the gender and sex questions in the census. It is not a challenge to free speech to create inclusive spaces for trans students to survive & hopefully thrive.
