I’ve only got my experience to really go off, but what I saw when working in the US for a year was super-sketchy...
You could literally see the outcomes from miles aways; disproportionate deaths of BMEs, achievement gaps, arguments over pubs, etc.
None of it way new or even unexpected.I’ve never lived in the US, but my BME American friends that have moved here, described discrimination as much subtler and insidious in nature. I think that applies to how we value life here; especially the economical disenfranchised. We have a higher death rate per capita.
