I am interested in a niche area of equity in funding. The contents are mostly aimed at Is/ those making the transition to be PIs. I am not “othering”. The analysis may not be of value to folks earlier in the path. Make up your mind from data. I don't consider myself an activist.

‘I’m interested’ =/= ‘I’ve looked more into’. I’m interested in equity in research for all but I know more about certain areas. ‘I don’t consider myself an activist’. What do U mean? An activist is a person who campaigns to bring about political or social change. Right?pic.twitter.com/1ddT5iJWNs

I am mulling over activist/campaigner/champion/advocate roles. I don't thing any of those words describe what I really want to do in the long run.

Which is...? What has changed? Because if you are actively participating in any activity that tries to change and improve the way we do research and how research is allocated, to build a fairer research landscape, then...you are an activist.pic.twitter.com/0DONNDTVD1

I think being labelled as an “activist” stopping folks from being inside the building. Personally, I don't need the recognition for the work but ultimately I need a seat in the decision-making table.

Who knows fam. People will call you what they like, regardless. Once you advocate for the marginalised, you’ll be labelled a troublemaker. Hear ‘activist’ being used as a slur — regardless of whether or not you like it. They’re just trying to silence you.
