Thanks. What does the x-axis represent?
I.e it is diagram to convey ideas. So there's isn't a conventional x-axis. I think there's just a lot of foundational concepts in data visualisation that it might be helpful to first learn. Maybe some wider reading would help.

So the diagram fails in its primary objective to show sex as a spectrum because it is unable to characterise that spectrum. Instead it is quite misleading by plotting both the to sexes and aneuploidies *as if* they formed some sort of ordered continuum even with a rainbow...

… bar across the back. The fact is that sex is not a spectrum, it is a discrete description of *functional* role in reproduction based on gamete types. This is what biologists mean by a sex. But the chart fails to make that clear.
