The idea of a #firstgenacademic shows a deep hierarchical privilege structure.
If we know such a huge accessibility problem exists why isn’t there more rebalancing?

Note:
I’m a working-class ethnic minority & was the 1st person, from their extended-family, time go to uni.
To me #FirstGen means something else, but more needs to be done so being first or second gen isn’t career influencing.
It’s crazy how defining being a first-gen uni kid, first-gen oxbridge kids or first-gen academic is.
