The lack of contextual applications has always bothered me. I’m from a working class background. When I arrived at Cambridge it hit me how trajectory was defined by A) Stability B) Privilege I know so many people who could have been amazing scientist if they had support.

Definitely agreed. Unfortunately, I don't know many good ways to fix this. The one good way I know is mentoring students from under represented backgrounds. This is why internships like the one at CMU are so important!
