Coming from a working-class background and growing up in state-housing. Though I went to Cambridge, I was disappointed that I never met a single academic with roots to myself. There was a real-class divide within British academics.
I was referring to social backgrounds. People for underprivileged and marginalised communities.There was the whole #defundSTEM #BlackLivesMatter
movement to that tried to highlight this.
Which is why I was trying to see what the academic community has been doing to change this. To see if people like myself would ever be represent.
I still struggle to find role models.

100% understand what you mean. I also remember growing up looking for role model scientists that I felt represented me Hopefully, you will become the role model others look up to =)
