I agree with the (always) and (sometimes). Imagine if people were against cancelling a KKK Grand Wizard that was giving a speech at a university. Cancelling: stop giving support to that person. Could entail boycotting movies or no longer reading or promoting a writer’s works.

I think by cancelling - what’s really being referred to is we should avoid falling into mob mentality. That’s a human issue due to decentralised decision making processes or group-thinking.
