What do you think is the best way to balance infection rate, local economics and compliance?
It would awesome to hear your thoughts on how we should manage public perception vs public risk.

My view is that the main priority should be to make schools as safe as possible for staff and students so they can remain open, even if this means no household mixing at Christmas. I understand though that it’s a complex situation with multiple risks to consider

I agree in part but what about families where there are no school age children who would benefit? In families with no children there would just be the loneliness of missing one’s grown up children.

It is really sad. Some of my family are in that situation. However don’t you think that households mixing for a few days over Christmas will result in them being able to see less of each other for many weeks or months after Christmas (because of further lockdowns/tier 3)?

Possibly but I think a complete lockdown as per March/April is the only thing that’s going to have any real effect until the majority are vaccinated and that’s with or without a Xmas meeting. If that’s the case we might as well enjoy a couple of days with family to keep us going

I think this is probably a common sentiment. Which is why I wasn’t sure about overall compliance and how that would impact mass short-terms and long-term behaviour.
