Every department has abusive labs that many grad students leave. My question: what accountability measures are in place in your dept to address these issues from the student or faculty side?

I’m on the Graduate Studies Committee for my dept and this is a huge discussion right now for our grad students. I totally agree these accountability measures should extend to other career stages.
If you implement a lot of this stuff, you’ll get the stuff you want. Abuse will drop, workplace behaviour will change. But you also risk becoming the next Timnit Gebru. Anyone who stands up against abuse for the marginalised will always be shot down.
