Every department has abusive labs that many grad students leave. My question: what accountability measures are in place in your dept to address these issues from the student or faculty side?

I like that. I learned today the process of reporting abusive is long and often students never hear about outcome. Perhaps because the Dean’s office doesn’t communicate this back to the department.
It’s because complaint procedures exist to make seem like transparency exist while silencing victims. I so don’t understand why so many academics convince themselves that things are fairer than they are when literally all the siren are screaming. It’s like police brutality
