By choosing to stay neutral in matters where there’s a victim and abuser. You are, regardless of your intent, supporting the abuser and further victimising the victim. Abuse is complex and grey, there are no perfect victims, but there is no such thing as a neutral position.
At the end of the day it comes to power structures. Who is in a position of power and who is vulnerable. Taking a ‘neutral’ stance only acts to further enhance the existing power structure, rather than challenge it.
