1) Objects exist outside of our perception and ability to interpret and understand them. Colour and texture maybe interpreted differently by two brains, though the object being observed exits in n-dimensional space.
2) Use of language does shape our perception of reality but it is possible to hold knowledge that cannot be fully semantically described. Similarly a scientific claim may be limited by its use of language and not fully encompasses its greater implications.

There is an interesting concept called “Gödelian Information” coined by Miguel Nicolelis for this idea. In contrast to Shannon information, which can be thought of as medium-independent and mathematically tractable, G.I. describes information embedded in a physical medium.

Such information might include various qualia of memory, which can be highly dependent on subtle physical processes that elude concrete description, because in a sense they cannot be mapped to a interpretable abstraction with a finite amount of Shannon information.
