I hope so, though increasingly I think privilege, luck and network leads to success. Humility and grit are amazing human characteristics, but the most marginalised and disadvantaged are usually the ones with the most grit and humanity. Rarely do they receive acknowledgment.

Are there statistical examples to backup the last claim? By definition humble people aren't pursuing to stand out from the crowd to get claps. Thus, who would collect their stats?

Yeh, so there’s been some study into the concept of humility and career progression. The social perception of being humble is valuable. There’s general consensus that being too humble means you can be overlooked. At least within our current economic system.
