You're casting the Q when you're still in the initial location so that's the range at that point in time.

I'm wondering how the player is supposed to know that they are still on the location shown pointed by the arrow when that's what they see on the screen (well, except for the arrow).pic.twitter.com/jRydBGXkqq

The Q is cast before you even leave the location in this case.pic.twitter.com/iCASibe2s8

But he is spamming Q for the entire cast time of E and you can see the green arrows still pointing at the position in range of the old cast. Also I've tested in Try mode and used Q near the end of "Warping In", still clamped to the old location. Trying to record.

Im not sure if you did read my tweets, but I will tag some other rDPS players since I am curious if anyone supports this design choice - @psalmHotS
@CrisHeroes@Deeaybe@POILKpls@darkmok3@CrozzbyHOTS. What do you guys think? Yay or meh? I personally thought it was a bug.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

I read it, which is why I replied to it! :P For it to work the way you're expecting it to work, you have to Q after the teleport is done. Any time before the cast bar is still running, it will cast from the old location.

To be fair, you didn't specifically reply to my thread but rather to
@lerhond's attempt of explaining the actual problem with this. So I wasn't certain if you did1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Basically this is how the ability is expected to work. You have to wait for the E to finish before casting Q otherwise it will cast from the original location and changing this would have lots of unintended interactions.https://twitter.com/azgaz/status/979777755901411328 …

Did you actually try it? Pardon my stubbornness, but I really sometimes feel like the SC2-engine is limiting the devs a lot. Some stuff feels clunky or is a bit RNG-based. I am not a developer nor do I have a lot of experience with coding, I just want efficieny for players.

Yup, I have devs around me while I laser things in Try mode. Until the cast bar is done for "Warp", your cast is still from the original location cause you haven't arrived yet at your new location.

I just figured, it works the same for Maiev with E + Q. Probably for other heroes as well, but it was the easiest to notice with Fenix due to casting time & delay. Imo it's crucial to get rid off those "unintended interactions" and make it work properly.. but Im just a player.

this is for sure a topic that is not relevant for most players, but on high level of play it is crucial; i think the current behavior just feels wrong
