      Don't use foreign currency exchange stations. Just pull money at an ATM directly. Make sure you dont have a CC with foreign transaction fees

      TripAdvisor is better than Yelp overseas. So if you want suggestions on things to do or places to eat, use that instead.

      Have cash on hand, credit cards aren't as prevalent in Europe. Cologne is generally ok because of tourism but better safe than sorry.
