So how come everyone refers to it as "Dorms" as opposed to "Dorm"? Genuinely curious.

Interesting question. No idea, we refer to it that way internally as more of a loving phrase. Rolls off the tongue a little better.

Probably because multiple schools participate, so multiple "dorms"

I think it may also have to do with people referring to dorms (the actually housing) as dorms. That's why i started calling it dorms
